The Information Unit
One of the challenges faced by a small business is having the resource to keep up to date with the rapid developments in IT and establishing which of a bewildering array of solutions will deliver a return on investment.
This part of the programme will develop a unique facility, the Information Unit, offering impartial advice on making ICT effective within your organisation. A particular focus will be on equality issues associated with gender; disability; ethnic origin; belief; age; and sexual orientation.
"We need a Scotland where creating, learning and connecting faster is the basis for growth, competitiveness and prosperity"
The main focus of the programme is to:
- understand ICT, the associated jargon and how it may apply to your business
- supporting human resource management electronically to improve staff retention and development
- integrate the use of appropriate ICT into a business strategy
- specify ebusiness requirements to ensure you receive a bespoke solution that meets your needs and can be managed with minimal support
- establish your employees needs and make effective use of the solution you choose to maximise your return on investment
- prioritise your adoption of ICT so that you implement the solution that will have the desired impact for your company
- provide guidance on how you can work more closely with your suppliers and customers
