MOLI

The Mobile Learning Initiative (MOLI) is a fully satellite enabled executive coach delivering broadband awareness and learning to the wider community, bringing opportunities to all areas throughout Scotland, thus ensuring economic growth.

Under the EU programme, EQUAL, the state-of-the-art coach was officially launched in two locations - Fife and Glasgow - giving a number of companies the opportunity to visit the facility and see the benefits it can bring to their organisation.

The innovative training facility will help local businesses take a blended learning approach to training. Delivery methods are flexible and can be customised to suit the needs and demands faced by today's modern business culture. It is self-contained facility and is equipped with 10-networked computers with the latest software.

Glenrothes College, under the auspices of EQUAL is leading a consortium of organisations to develop and disseminate a range of tested methods and practices by utilising the use of new technology in the workplace - and the Mobile Learning Initiative is one of the piloted solutions.

MOLI's Orkney Adventure

MOLI the Mobile Online Learning Initiative has been seen Island hopping in Orkney.
MOLI has spent a week going around Orkney showing and demonstrating the advantages of having broadband and the internet at your finger tips.
The trip was between the 5th and 10th of September and enabled MOLI to take in all the sites, covering business', pedestrians and schools.

In fact the success was so great that over the week MOLI entertained and educated a total of 208 people. In many areas the expectancy was so great that the children had taken to pen and paper and decided to draw a picture of MOLI before she arrived and had hoped that they had captured her good side. The week was an excellent use of MOLI and all her talents and was primarily organised by Orkney Enterprise and the Highlands and Islands Enterprise. All in all MOLI was happy to oblige any of the requests made on her by her visitors.
