Mainstreaming

Mainstreaming is a long-term process and essentially means that policy makers, researchers, and those delivering services should take account of and reflect the diverse needs of the population in Scotland. Policy makers and researchers need to understand that different communities and groups face particular inequalities and difficulties. With this in mind, we need to consider how the policies and projects that we develop, impact upon these communities and groups.
